Actress, Brazilian, Karen Wasssmer has worked in over twenty short-films and in over ten theatrical montages in the past years. Since she was a child she always loved to act, to tell stories and at 17 years-old she became a professional actress, acting for cinema and theatre as well.

It is about telling someone's story, so that someone else can listen to, reflect on, feel, understand. Because it is through empathy that art tranforms people. Her main work is as an actress, but recently she's been exploring directing and producing in her latest projects such as "Ingrained Wounds", a short movie that she co-directed, produced and acted in, as in the theatrical play "As Portas do Céu Estão Abertas Para Receber Celina de Souza e Souza"/" The Gates of Heaven are Open to Receive Celina de Souza e Souza", from a company that she's part of, where she worked as an actress, co-director and producer and in her most recent project, "Te espero às quatro"/ "I'll see you at four", produced by Vertigo Filmes as part of the Floripa 48h Film Project, she worked as well as a casting producer and as the main character of the film, that won best movie of the competition alongside other awards, and now is set to represent Brasil in Filmapalooza 2024, in Lisbon. Besides that, Karen also took home the award for best acting for her performance on the film.
